"What a way to ride....."

It's Monday night....so for everyone who talks to me on a regular basis (all 2 of you lol), you know it's FISH TACO NIGHT!!  I always thought fish tacos sounded disgusting, but as it turns out, they are quite delicious.  We always go to The Golden Lion on Flagler Beach and sit directly across the street from the ocean outside.  Fish tacos are $6.50 on Mondays, and we always get Diet Coke with cherry grenadine :)  Delish.  The waiters are starting to know our order before we give it--starting to be a real local AND we have the driver's licenses to prove it now!

We found a cool place last week called Waterfront Park where we took Ryan's tricycle and walked after dinner on the trail.  I couldn't wait to go back this week and bring my rollerblades.  It's been at least 10 years since I've done any form of skating (and I think the last of my skating was ice skating with Jessica, Terry, Will and some others senior year of high school), so I was a little nervous, especially when my mom made sure to ask if all of our insurance had transferred over in the move!

When we got there tonight, there was no one there.  But as my luck always has it, the minute I took off my shoes and started to put on my skates, 2 cars full of people pulled up.  I was a little slow at first, but once I got going, it was like I had never stopped!  It felt soooo good to skate along side the Intracoastal, looking at boats and birds and even a manatee poking it's head up a couple of times :)  And did I mention those blades have no brakes?  Yeah, I got them from a friend's brother back in 8th or 9th grade and they still fit and work fine!  Best of all, I didn't fall or even come close!

I noticed when I got further down the trails that I could see our place from there.  My next mission is to go with Terry one day when he gets a bike down here and see how long it takes to get from there to here.  I'm convinced that it'll run directly into the trail behind our place.  Even if it doesn't I don't care.  Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.  I realized how thankful I am that I didn't chicken out on this move, because I could be the one that always says "Oh one day I'll do this" or "one day I'll do that," and then end up too old to enjoy it or never get to live to see it.  Tonight, I passed an elderly man on a wheelchair and he said to me "What a way to ride!" as I went by.  I smiled back and told him "Yeah but it's starting to hurt a little!" and laughed.  I was starting to get a good distance away, but I heard him say "I'd give anything to be able to be on those!"  Life's too short to wait for the perfect time to follow your dreams.  Who knows when that will actually ever be.  And as I've said many times, it may all go to hell tomorrow, but I'm having a blast in the meantime :)
